Issue 39 – Entrust Your August With Us

Hey, Smart Home Pros!

In many areas of the United States, August kicks off the back-to-school season. Here at Snap One, we believe there is no such thing as being too cool for school, especially in our industry. Technology and education go together better than the PB&J you carried in your lunch sack. We may not be able to provide a sandwich through this message, but we do have a spread of new product features, smart skills, KB articles, tips, tricks, and more to offer!

P.S. If PB&J is still a staple lunch item for you, you’ll find no judgment here. You can’t beat classic and efficient. The real questions are: Crunchy or creamy? Strawberry or grape? White or wheat?

Offering you a mental image of your perfect PB&J,

It’s the Final Countdown… of Compatible OS Versions for the HC-800 Controller and USB Installer

OS 3.3.0 will be the final compatible OS version for the legacy HC-800 controller. This means that any HC-800 will need to be removed from projects before any system updates to OS 3.3.1 or beyond. Additionally, the USB Installer will not be updated to support the CORE Series controllers or OS 3.3.0. This product was built for scenarios where the internet was unavailable for an OS update. However, the need for this tool has decreased as connectivity options have become more abundant. The USB installer can still be used to update systems with HC and EA Controllers up to OS 3.2.4. Resolved: OS 3.3.0 Directory Not Found for Announcement Agent

Last month we highlighted a workaround for a bug in OS 3.3.0 that does not allow you to add an audio file to the Announcement Agent. We now have a resolution for this bug with Composer Pro version 3.3.0631355-res. Read more on the resolution here.
